October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month and that is when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. After my annual mammogram, then a biopsy, I was diagnosed with atypical ductal hyperplasia (ADH). The radiologist told me that ADH was not breast cancer, but about 15% of the cases of ADH led to breast cancer and I that I needed a surgical biopsy, done by a breast specialist.
I sought out a breast surgeon at MD Anderson Cancer Center and underwent a lumpectomy.
Two weeks later I received the diagnosis of malignant neoplasm, estrogen receptor positive.
My surgeon felt he extracted the entire tumor and that I would not need to undergo chemotherapy, but I did need a round of radiation. My radiation was scheduled for one month following my lumpectomy.
During that time, a friend introduced me to Grafex Super C-60. He gave me all the scientific evidence and the patient testimonials and how Grafex Super C-60 would be beneficial. But all I knew was I had breast cancer, I was 53 with three grown children just out of college and it was not my time to go.
I took my friend’s suggestion and began taking Grafex Super C-60 two weeks before my radiation started.
During my treatments, I met with my oncologist and my radiation oncologist weekly. My treatments were 5 days a week for one month. I was told I would experience redness, burning, peeling, fatigue and/or hair loss. I even was given a referral for a cosmetic surgeon in case I had any indentations or areas that “concaved”. While undergoing treatments, I was to apply a moisturizer to my breast 2x a day, everyday. I took one Grafex capsule orally every day and had also taken one of the capsules and mixed it into my moisturizer, applying the mixture twice a day.
Each week, my oncologists would check my breast for redness, burning, peeling, etc and each week I would be told “next week you’ll start seeing the symptoms”. My last appointment with my oncologists, they asked me what I was taking/doing, to have no symptoms. When I told them about Grafex, they dismissed me quickly, not wanting to listen to a word I was saying.
I drove myself to and from my treatments everyday, a one hour drive each way. I went to work each day, taking no time off. I led my life just the way I had before my cancer diagnosis. I truly believe taking Grafex gave me a better quality of life during my treatments and still continues to do so today. I take one capsule every day. I have not gotten sick, even when all my co-workers were sick with the flu, COVID, or common colds. Grafex was not a cure for my cancer, but it sure made my cancer journey more manageable.
