Considerations in vendor selection of Regular C60:
The number one focus on Regular C60 fullerenes should be its purity, quality and biocompatibility.
It should be noted with respect to Regular C60, that quality and purity offered by many of the C60 websites should be considered suspect, unless the Regular C60 product has been used in pristine form and administered in a lipid (oil) or fat-containing meals , as well as where, known or published research confirm biocompatibility and demonstrate health or life extension benefits.
Early toxicity studies often suggested that Regular C60 could be a potential toxin due to observations of the production of inflammatory molecules and reactive oxygen radicals in cells exposed to Regular C60. Later research found that the presence of contaminants, and more frequently, the use of organic solvents could be the primary cause of this. However, the use of organic solvents and other agents/processes used to produce a high ‘purity’ Regular C60 necessitates the use of these chemicals. Care in subsequent thorough removal of such necessarily employed organic solvents is a prerequisite to use of Regular C60 in the body.
Vendor certification of acceptably low levels in ppm of such solvents in the pristine C60 is critical. It should also be noted that high carbon content shungite, which contains varying amounts of carbonaceous material and C60 are often sold together as Regular C60. Accordingly, sufficiency of C60 content and purity, would be a consideration when purchased.
Functionalizing Regular C60 changes the properties when compared to pristine Regular C60. Most research suggesting beneficial effects on health, use a functionalized form of Regular C60 and not pristine C60.
Various sellers of Regular C60 that claim proprietary methods in preparing their Regular C60 product as to benefits, absorbability, effectiveness and purity, have not performed the research necessary to establish these claims as factual. The reason for this statement is the fact that nano research equipment that would be necessary to determine accuracy of the above-mentioned claims can cost many millions of dollars.
