First Mice Cancer and Longevity Testing (Cont.)

To begin with, the study used ten (12-week-old) ‘Nude mice’ bred for cancer research.  Nude mice have a genetic mutation that causes a deteriorated or absent thymus, resulting in an inhibited immune system due to a greatly reduced number of T cells.  Without an effective immune system, these mice lack the ability to mount a defense against cancer and infectious or other diseases.  This allows researchers to have some assurance that whatever therapies used are the reason for the response they observe

Unfortunately, without the benefit of a normal immune system, these mice are very fragile and short lived. They must be maintained in a very highly sanitized and controlled lab environment. Normal life span of these mice is about 6 months to 1 year.

Tumors were grown on each mouse. Of the 10 mice, 9 of them received an injection of castor oil mixed with Grafex® Super [C-60], directly into their tumor.  Eight of these mice were then treated with a medical microwave probe from a Medwave Avecure Generator with a temperature sensing microwave antenna.  Short cycle power using 10 watts at 15 sec. was the baseline settings. Target temperature within the tumor was 60⁰C.  The microwave probe device was like those used to treat prostate cancer in humans.

On all 8 mice that were treated with Grafex® Super [C-60] material and the microwave probe; the tumors were instantly and completely destroyed by this therapy and did not return after just this one treatment.

Of the other two mice,Mouse #9” was treated with the “caster oil and GRAFEX® Super [C-60] material“, but received no microwave treatment.  Mouse #10 being the control mouse, was not treated with microwave or the Grafex® Super [C-60] material at all.

Unfortunately, although its tumor had been destroyed;  Mouse #2, even though responding well to the treatment, “due to University protocol,” had to be euthanized shortly after the microwave treatment due to excessive burns from the microwave probe.  In the untreated Control Mouse #10, as the tumor metastasized (spread), it was necessary to euthanize it just 3 weeks after the tests began.  However, the tumor in Mouse #9 began to slowly shrink.  What was also remarkable was the positive health and activity these mice demonstrated.

Surprisingly, almost 12 months later all of the 8 original microwave treated mice were still alive.  They appeared more  energetic and healthy, than they had prior to their treatment with the GRAFEX® Super [C-60]/Caster Oil mix.  Even more important, was they showed no sign of cancer.  Dr. Desantis hailed his success and reported his observations.  He noted that the large amount of Grafex® Super [C-60] injected caused “no toxicity in the injected mice”.

Dr. Desantis failed to mention that “Mouse #9’s tumor had regressed” and seemed to have disappeared and actually stated in his conference poster that its “tumor growth has not receded or advanced” .  (Much later he said it was too unbelievable and no one would have taken him seriously if he had reported that the tumor had disappeared.)

After the 12th month, it was determined that the initial protocol of the cancer testing had been met and the Lab asked for instructions as to whether the mice should be euthanized.  After discussions with the Lab Director, Dr. Zimmerman and after the C60 Batti test had been released as to the longevity of the Rat Study in France, a decision was made not to euthanize the mice.  Dr. Desantis agreed to continue monitoring and filing reports on the progress and activity on the mice to see what happened to them over time.  If the disappearance of Mouse #9’s tumor wasn’t surprising enough, what follows began to amaze everyone following this study.

By 54 weeks, 7 of the original 10 mice were alive and cancer free.  Sadly, one of the original 8 mice had been cannibalized as mice often do.  However, at over a year in age, these remaining mice were now very long lived for this research mouse type.  In fact, they rarely live beyond 6 to 12 months under optimal conditions.

At 74 weeks post microwave treatment, 2 of the mice had disappeared from the lab without an explanation.  Now 5 of the original mice remained including Mouse #9.  They were now nearly 18 months old.  Dr. DeSantis reported that “in spite of the advanced age, even for normal mice; they all still acted like young adults and best of all were cancer free”.

At 84 weeks (actual age 96 weeks) these 5 mice were still alive and doing well but shortly thereafter Mouse #9 died.  At 98 weeks (actual age 110 weeks) of age, 2 more of the mice  died, leaving 2 remaining mice.  Dr. Desantis reported that these mice “continued to act like much younger mice.”( video of two active mice)

Of the last 2 mice, one survived for a total of 122 weeks and the last one lived until 7 Dec. 2014 (132 weeks).

Of particular note: The last 5 remaining mice, lived 3 to 5 times their expected life span, despite having survived tumors (cancer) and possessing an impaired immune system

Dr. Desantis commented that “the failure of the return of tumors was remarkable enough in itself as he has never seen that happen in his clinical experience” particularly since almost all mice and rats ultimately die of cancer.
